Today it is known that IKEA furniture is valued for the following qualities:

IKEA furniture for living rooms
In every home, the living room serves several functions. Here we meet friends, celebrate celebrations, spend quiet evenings with our families. Due to such wide application, the hall should be equipped with the best, comfortable and functional furniture. Ikea furniture in the interior allows you to create a harmonious, comfortable room design in which every family member will feel comfortable and cozy.
The manufacturer offers a wide selection of furnishings for living rooms, which, if desired, can be combined with an office. Comfortable and spacious bookshelves, original coffee tables, comfortable sofas will create a homely and relaxing atmosphere in the living room.
Original IKEA interiors
If you are a fan of bright colors and outrageous interiors, then you need to remember that there should be few bright colors in the living space. They can become an accent or highlight in the interior, but in no case should the entire room be in provocative colors.
Ikea interiors will always be stylish and fashionable. They combine practicality and sophistication, making them unique in their kind. You can emphasize your individuality and create a special interior in your home using high-quality IKEA products.
Furniture for children's rooms
Is there a more cheerful room in the apartment than the children's room? Of course not. It is very important for kids to have their own personal space, where everything is arranged the way they want. In this room, the furniture should be comfortable, safe and comfortable.
This is exactly what Ikea furniture is. Original, bright wardrobes, comfortable beds and shelves for storing your favorite toys, as shown in the photo, will allow you to create a stylish and comfortable room interior for your baby. Some models of children's beds, for example, in the form of cars, are very popular for several seasons in a row.
Kids appreciate the colorful design of furniture, and parents appreciate the high quality and safety of the products.
Modern classics + TULSTA chairs
In the apartment project for her friend, designer Victoria Vlasova also used chairs from IKEA, but first suggested making some adjustments to the look. As a result, the neutral upholstery of the TULSTA model was replaced with velvet, an expressive shade of blue. The chairs fit perfectly into the interior concept, began to look more refined and expensive, and helped give the decor a finished look.

Bedroom furniture
A room in which you want to retire, be isolated from the whole world for a while, collect your thoughts or just relax should be cozy and comfortable. We are talking about the bedroom. This is where we return after a hard day at work, where we restore our strength. This room also requires high-quality furniture that will delight you for many years. Ikea took care of this too. A large assortment of the new furniture collection from Ikea offers a lot of different options for arranging a bedroom. Luxurious double beds, comfortable wardrobes, chests of drawers and cabinets for small items and cosmetics, all this can be selected in the manufacturer’s catalogs.
Note that the manufacturer offers a wide selection of bedroom furniture of all sizes and configurations. Therefore, do not be upset if the bedroom in your apartment is small in size. You can easily arrange it to your liking using Ikea furniture.
Kitchen space
To create a beautiful and practical kitchen in the IKEA style, you need to show all your imagination. First of all, not everyone has a large kitchen space.
Both manufacturers and designers at IKEA have created many variations with a kitchen that is no more than ten square meters in area.
Kitchen islands can be used. This will save space in the room, but at the same time place the necessary equipment in its place.
It is better to use solid drawers in small spaces. Visually they enlarge the room. It is better to choose boxes and sets from floor to ceiling so that as much equipment as possible can fit in it.
IKEA furniture for the kitchen
The soul of any apartment, the main place where the whole family most often gathers, is the kitchen. This room requires comfortable, compact and functional furniture. The kitchen simply must accommodate cabinets for storing dishes, a dining table, and a comfortable work surface.
Again, it is worth noting that Ikea takes into account the small size of kitchens and offers a wide selection of compact cabinets, folding tables and convenient shelves for storing everything you need in the kitchen.
Expensive but unpretentious furnishings + kitchen and island KUNGSBAKKA
Another example of a successful upgrade of affordable Swedish furniture and the selection of the right interior companions for it is the remodeling of an IKEA kitchen for the project of a 120-meter apartment by designer Ekaterina Bekukh. The designer added concrete-look quartz countertops to the kitchen and clad the island in American walnut veneer.
The finishing touch is Kartell bar stools. “Democratic furniture goes well with the road,” says Ekaterina.

Hallway furniture
Can an ordinary corridor be comfortable and cozy? Of course yes. Thanks to wardrobes for outerwear, original shelves for storing umbrellas, hats and bags, as well as comfortable ottomans, the hallway may well become a cozy room that will welcome and see you off. By diversifying the hallway interior with original cabinets, hooks and hangers, you will create a unique design that all your guests will admire.
The arrangement of apartments furnished with furniture from Ikea always amazes and delights with its originality. Many buyers admit that they have been using Ikea products for several decades in a row. Thanks to the high quality, reliability and excellent appearance of the furniture, which is preserved for many years, interior items are passed down by inheritance.
Comfortable, presentable furnishings, custom-made furniture + ALENG floor lamps
In a penthouse for rent designed by Rita Listopadova and Sergei Zhdanov, even seasoned IKEA fans will not immediately notice the ALENG floor lamps: the original appearance of the lamps has been changed beyond recognition. The base gives them away: during the remodeling process, ceramic plates were strung on it and a lampshade made in the Moscow Bottega workshop was replaced. This is how the Ikea lamp turned from a replicated one into a one-piece item.

Additional interior items, lighting and textiles
The advantage of organizing collections of furniture and accessories in the Ikea chain of stores is that you can choose additions to your furniture without straying from the course set by the style and color palette. You can immediately select carpeting for the living room, curtains and curtains for decorating window openings, lighting devices, ranging from chandeliers to table lamps and much more.
Ceiling chandeliers, floor lamps, table lamps and wall sconces at IKEA are produced according to the principle of “universal applicability”; it is believed that simple and laconic forms, traditional colors and standard sizes can be harmoniously integrated into the interior of almost any style. But at the same time, accessories for the living room and beyond look modern, original and perfectly perform their main functions.
Carpeting in light, neutral tones will not only warm your feet on cool days, but will also add a touch of homeliness to a minimalist living room, raising the level of attractiveness and comfort of the room.
In conclusion, it should be noted that Ikea furniture perfectly decorates an interior created in any style. A wide range and regular updating allows you to choose the right model for your living room, kitchen, hallway, office. Each buyer will be able to find a comfortable sofa, a comfortable bed or a spacious wardrobe that will literally transform a boring interior. Ikea furniture looks stylish, original and modern. Therefore, it is recommended to friends, passed on by inheritance and given to dear people.
Variety of interiors
This company on its website has a large database of interior photos with IKEA furniture, demonstrating what exactly can be created in a particular room. Considering your capabilities, you can create a comfortable environment in your home.
The features of such interiors are as follows:
- Each furniture and interior item should be as practical as possible.
- Aesthetics in such an interior is simply necessary.
- Affordability is the main criterion of this brand. Therefore, many of the proposed interiors are quite accessible to a large number of people.
- Creativity and originality can be seen in every new model released from the IKEA brand.
Interior for $5000. Assembling IKEA furniture for a Minsk apartment
The three and a half week experiment has come to an end. Minsk residents Alexandra and Anton successfully spent $5,000 on IKEA furniture. At first, we chose a design project together, then we went “to purchase” in Moscow. It's time to talk about how easy it was to assemble the furniture in the apartment and what happened in the end. They say that IKEA's assembly instructions are written so clearly and clearly that even a schoolchild can cope with this task. Well, let's check it out! And, of course, we will compare the result with the designer’s sketches.
Let us remind you that our heroes are the owners of a one-room apartment with finished finishing in Novaya Borovaya. The couple decided not to bother themselves with long shopping trips and furnish the entire apartment in the style of Scandinavian minimalism. Firstly, it’s fast and convenient: all household goods can be found on one website and bought in one place. Secondly, it's inexpensive.
Let’s make a reservation right away: for some reason, the price list provided by the designer did not include the wardrobe in the living room that was shown in the sketches. There is no way to live without it in a new apartment. Therefore, in order not to exceed the budget of $5,000, Sasha and Anton, not without regret, had to sacrifice some things, the importance of which is of secondary importance. In the hallway, they abandoned the wardrobe for outerwear; in the living room, they abandoned the armchair, TV stand, laptop stand and floor lamp. The kitchen was left without a sofa. But during the shopping process, new items appeared on the shopping list. Along with the kitchen, Sasha wanted to purchase a hob and equip the cabinet with all kinds of pull-out shelves.
Ultimately, about $4,800 was spent in Moscow. The remaining money was just enough to buy a table and two chairs for the kitchen. They were already looking for a suitable option in Minsk, since the children did not like the lunch groups from IKEA.
Delivery of furniture from IKEA Moscow
For $250, all the furniture was delivered to Minsk by a freight carrier who responded to an ad on an auction website. If the order was placed through one of the companies that regularly imports furniture from IKEA, the service would cost twice as much (intermediaries take at least 8-10% of the check amount).
* * *
The sofa, wardrobe and various small items were delivered two weeks ago. A couple of days later the kitchen arrived. Cardboard boxes took up almost half the room. Sasha and Anton set to work with undisguised enthusiasm: will they be able to cope on their own?
First of all, the floor was thoroughly washed so that neither the furniture nor the laminate would be scratched during the assembly process. We started with the simplest things - benches in the hallway and shelves for hats. 20 minutes - and the bench is ready.
Preparing the room for furniture assembly
Each packaging box, along with furniture parts and fasteners, contains instructions in the form of a small book. There is no text in 25 languages - only schematic drawings. Moreover, all the details are numbered, and the sequence of actions is carefully drawn. From the first pages of the instructions, we are greeted by a character - a little man demonstrates what tools he will need, how he can and cannot handle furniture.
Assembly instructions for IKEA furniture
— I still remember our trip to Moscow. Tiring is not the right word! - says Sasha, tightening the screw. “It’s a long road there, then seven hours of running around the store, warehouse, exchange offices, and the way back in the middle of the night.” We spent exactly 24 hours. But we bought everything in one place and called it a day. In Minsk, you would have to visit a dozen showrooms and shopping centers and order accessories separately. I can’t even imagine how long it would take.
Let's start assembling the modular sofa. There are no particular difficulties here, everything is clear, but things are not moving quickly: there are too many elements.
Assembling a modular sofa
The sofa covers are removable and secured to the sections and backs with Velcro. Convenient: if dirty, you can remove it and wash it. And if you get tired of gray over time, it’s no problem to order covers of a different color.
Removable sofa covers
The kit even includes such little things as soft stickers on the legs of the sofa that protect the floor from scratches.
Protective stickers on sofa legs
— By the way, what about the guarantee? - we are interested.
- Five years. But in the event of some kind of breakdown, it hardly makes sense to take the sofa to Moscow. You will spend so much on gasoline that it is cheaper to repair it in Minsk.
Having assembled the sofa, Sasha and Anton hurried to check whether the mattress was too soft. Before going to the IKEA store, they expected that the model they had chosen was equipped with an independent spring block, but in fact it turned out to be foam rubber on a slatted base.
“Well, that’s not bad either,” says Anton, turning from side to side. “For now, let’s try to sleep like this.” If you don’t like it, we’ll buy an orthopedic mattress cover.
The rather unusual location of the sofa (almost in the middle of the room) is explained by the fact that there will be a TV hanging on the wall opposite. Thus, it can be watched even from the kitchen. When assembled, the sofa gives a lot of free space in the living room. But the question is: where to store bed linen?
“It’s probably a shame we didn’t buy another module in the form of a chair.” It just had a compartment for linen,” Sasha regrets. - I'll have to order it after some time.
* * *
The next day the closet and kitchen were installed. To speed up the process, Anton invited his friend with a screwdriver and a jigsaw to help.
— To be honest, I don’t have much experience assembling furniture. But they say all sorts of things. Sometimes there are no instructions - assemble as you want. Or they won’t drill all the holes at the factory - you have to measure something yourself with a ruler and pencil. There is a shortage of screws somewhere. The Swedes are great in this regard: IKEA is assembled like Lego. Everything is clear and understandable. And there are so many holes drilled that you can mount a shelf at any height,” says Anton, wielding a screwdriver. — A separate issue is quality. Now you collect it, turn everything in your hands and realize: in some places it’s flimsy. They say that IKEA is furniture made from sawdust and paper. Well, that's partly true. But at least this furniture doesn’t look bad. And it's inexpensive. If it breaks after some time, don't mind.
- That's right, we are not going to pass this furniture on to our grandchildren. Firstly, its service life is limited. And why would anyone else need it? In forty years, such an interior will be called a “grandmother’s house,” laughs Sasha. — “Odnushka” is a temporary option for Anton and me. What's the point of buying expensive furniture here? And then think about how to transport it, whether it will fit into the new interior and whether it will become morally obsolete.
Assembled rack
The guys struggled a bit with installing the kitchen. The outlet of the future siphon did not coincide with the drain pipe. I had to call a plumber, extend the pipe and trim the bottom and sides of the cabinet under the sink.
- It turned out pretty clumsy. To be honest, everything should have been foreseen before the finishing was completed and the pipe should have been installed, hiding it in the wall,” explains Anton.
The cabinets are attached to the wall and leveled using an overhead rail and self-tapping screws.
Attaching kitchen cabinets to the wall
In the kitchen, Anton needed the help of a friend and his jigsaw. Installing the sink was easy. However, when installing the countertop, one construction “jamb” surfaced: the unevenness of the wall immediately became noticeable. However, the baseboard should close these gaps.
Without "jambs" there is no way
The wallpaper above the tabletop will, of course, quickly get dirty. Over time, the apartment owners plan to cover the surface with white tiles. An oven should appear under the hob, and at the other end of the kitchen there should be space for a dishwasher. There are almost no cabinets on top, only a drying rack for dishes and two shelves. Are there not enough storage spaces?
“For two, it’s just right,” Sasha is sure. — We only need two frying pans and two pots, 10 plates in case guests come. I hope no one gives a table set for 18 people as a housewarming gift. In general, furniture minimalism disciplines. There is no temptation to clutter empty cabinets.
Hanging curtains
It’s still too early to move into an apartment: there is no refrigerator. While the guys are collecting money to buy a new one, they are thinking about borrowing or buying a used one. I want to move as soon as possible. Over time, a hood will appear. Just not orange, as in the designer’s sketches, but black. The kids didn't like the tangerine theme in the kitchen. That’s why, by the way, they also abandoned the orange “Ikea” table.
Dining table
Yesterday, when the finishing touches were remaining, Sasha and Anton invited designer Vera Dubrovskaya, according to whose concept the furniture was selected, to “accept” the apartment. Let us remind you that the interior project was completed completely free of charge.
— All the essential furniture has been purchased. But, of course, completeness is lacking,” Vera admits. — The living room definitely needs another module that serves as both an armchair and a compartment for storing linen. A floor lamp wouldn't hurt. The lampshade, although it looks impressive, does not provide enough light to illuminate the entire room. By the way, I approve of the guys’ decision to buy a blue lampshade, not a white one. If they like it, that's the main thing. You just need to somehow support this color in other interior details. A blue pillow will be just right... Now that there is furniture, we need to add life to the interior. Sasha and Anton wanted a drawing on the wall with an aviation theme - a great idea that should never be rejected.

Compared to the pictures drawn, the real apartment looks a bit empty. This is explained by the fact that the wardrobe was not included in the price list, which is why other pieces of furniture had to be discarded. The kitchen (chipboard and painted MDF, solid worktop) cost $2,250, the closet - $900, the sofa - $1,030. The designer assures that things of similar quality in Minsk will cost much more. By adding a refrigerator, you can already live in such an apartment. But for complete comfort, the $5000 spent is probably not enough.
Having tightened the last screw, both Sasha and Anton exhaled with relief. It seems that the guys are not at all worried about the lack of some kind of lamp and the incompleteness of the interior. Tomorrow they, happy people, can move to their new apartment.
