Dear friends, today I want to immerse you in the delicate palettes of gray and pink. This color combination is rightfully considered one of the most popular. By changing the color ratios, you can create either a gentle and sensual interior, or give it seriousness and asceticism. Moreover, in any ratio, both colors look advantageous, because the gray color in this duet becomes less formal and seasoned, and pink acquires the missing expressiveness and brightness. Take a look at the selection of interiors where these colors were used, maybe they will inspire you...
Gray shades
The gray range has a fairly wide color range, which starts from almost bleached shades and ends with dark, almost black tones. Thanks to this variability, it is possible to choose a suitable solution for any design.
A hall in warm gray tones looks truly luxurious and noble, and a living room decorated in cool steel colors can evoke associations with a factory premises.
Despite the monotony, gray colors, due to correctly selected textures, create a picturesque and deep design rather than a boring and empty one.

Light gray colors will bring light and air into a small room, and also visually enlarge the space. Rich dark gray shades will help mask planning imperfections and small unevenness of different planes.

Bathroom
The bathroom is located in the second semicircle and occupies almost 4 meters. This area was enough to fit all the necessary things: a toilet, a washbasin, storage systems, a bathtub, a dryer and a mirror.
The secret of this room lies in the functional combined furniture, which helped to fit everything you need in the bathroom. For example, this is a hanging cabinet, the doors of which are designed like a mirror, as well as a combined washbasin and drawers. Due to the snow-white color and suspended design of furniture and plumbing fixtures, the room seems larger and more spacious.
The bathroom also combines various finishing materials, which make the room more interesting. Here the designers used patchwork tiles, highlighting the bathtub area, gray porcelain tiles and relief mosaic tiles in the toilet area.
Here pink is presented only in textiles: a fluffy rug, bathrobe and towel.
The cost of the design project for this one-room apartment is 29,990 rubles . You can learn more about the layout, design solutions, furniture used and finishing materials in our statement.
Combination with other colors
Due to the numerous number of shades, gray is ideally combined with other tones.
Living room in gray and white tones
Similar monochrome colors form a very harmonious duet, giving the atmosphere a special charm. For a comfortable and cozy interior, snow-white tones can be replaced with milky or creamy ones. The gray and white combination is perfect for those who do not accept overly bright designs. This tandem with the addition of black will look interesting.

Gray-blue interior
Cool blue color fills the living room with pleasant freshness and attracts attention. Silver or smoky colors will look good in combination with delicate cornflower blue and blue shades.

Living room in gray and beige tones
Beige gives gray more warmth and coziness. A good solution would be an alliance with sand or powdery flowers. Neutral and noble tones combine to create an elegant and timeless design that fits perfectly into the living room.

Gray-pink interior of the hall
Regardless of the chosen shade of pink, the decor takes on either a discreet and feminine or pompous and glamorous look. Hot pink is best used as accent spots. For example, a gray sofa in the living room can be complemented with stylish fuchsia decorative pillows, and colorful posters or paintings can be placed on monochrome walls. In a gray living room, elegant vases with soft pink peonies or roses look very beautiful.

Gray living room design with bright accents
The gray interior of the living room will be perfectly diluted with sunny and cheerful yellow splashes. Canary-colored sofa upholstery, curtains in golden tones, a lamp with a mustard shade, paintings or mirrors in bright lemon frames will add positive notes to the monotonous atmosphere.

Green allows you to fill a gray living room with harmony and peace. Cool emerald or jade colors evoke a feeling of relaxation, while warm pistachio, herbal or light green tones create an invigorating atmosphere.
Gray design with lilac accents becomes truly elegant and mysterious; turquoise colors deserve special attention, which give the living room a royal look.
Layout
Each layout scheme has its own design techniques and rules for space distribution.
With bar counter
The bar counter can continue the desktop, occupy one side of the peninsula, or retire by the window. The last option is especially successful if there is a pleasant view. In tight spaces, the stand can be made folding. Under it you can place shelves or a refrigerator for drinks.
Kitchen-living room
The kitchen-living room has a dining and work area. The division can be purely visual, using a peninsula, in color, in different textures of the floor covering.
A large room can be made more compact by combining contrasting colors (black-pink) or highlighted zonally using similar combinations (bright pink with gray, pink with blue).
With an island
An island is an advantage of a kitchen with a large area. Sometimes it looks heavy, but integrating open shelves fully or partially optimizes the appearance. The island can be decorated in a bright dark pink color or combined in one tone with the bottom row of the set.
U-shaped
The U-shaped arrangement of the furniture does not allow for a dining area, but there is enough space to place kitchen utensils. If one side is made in the form of a peninsula, it can be used as a table.
The somewhat bulky look of the kitchen can be alleviated by making the top row of cabinets lighter or with transparent doors, demarcating areas with a contrasting apron, and dividing the sides with color.
Corner
The corner arrangement of the furniture is ideal from an ergonomic point of view. You have to move less when cooking. In a studio apartment, the kitchen area can be highlighted with color and limited by a bar counter.
A monochromatic kitchen is expressionless. The color scheme of the headset may include 2-3 colors - pink top, gray bottom or beige top, deep pink bottom row.
Small kitchen
- to move the walls apart, use a light tone; a white kitchen with pale pink walls looks spacious and fresh;
- in a room facing north, only warm colors are applicable;
- photo wallpapers, drawings or painting a couple of shades darker will visually move the wall away;
- The technique will also work when highlighting the backsplash with tiles or panels for the kitchen in the color of Persian rose or magenta;
- a pink ceiling is acceptable in a light version, for example, pink top and gray bottom;
- The headset and curtains with sparkles will add shine to the light;
- any decor in a small area will be superfluous.
Decoration in the living room
Certain finishing materials can create both a business-like and formal, as well as a homely and cozy living room design.
- Walls. Textured wallpaper or decorative plaster will give the room a decent ambience. A modern interior solution would be to create a darker accent plane against the background of light gray walls painted or covered with plain wallpaper.
- Floor. Graphite colors harmonize perfectly with beige, brown or white shades, which can be reflected in wooden flooring. A living room with a floor finished in gray laminate, parquet or linoleum looks no less stylish.
- Ceiling. For the ceiling plane, you can choose pearl, pastel gray or silver. In this case, it is not recommended to choose complex multi-level ceilings, as they will create unnecessary shadows.

If the surrounding cladding becomes boring, thanks to the universal gray design, there is no need to resort to major renovations. You can radically change the interior using accent decor, textiles or furniture elements.
Redevelopment
Redevelopment was minimal. We moved the entrance to the room from the hallway to accommodate a double bed and comfortably place a closet in the hallway.
We also removed the window sill in the kitchen and replaced it with panoramic French glazing with a door - so that the loggia could be accessed from the kitchen. The heating radiator was moved closer to the corner of the wall and hidden behind a curtain.
What furniture is suitable?
Gray furniture pieces will not overload the living room and at the same time make it elegant. White or black furniture will fit perfectly into the design. As a stylish accessory, a monochrome room can also be complemented with a red chair or other bright element.
Gray wooden furniture looks ideal. Bedside tables, cabinets, shelving and tables of a light gray shade, when the light flux falls at a certain angle, seem like marble or stone products.
The photo shows the interior of a gray room with contrasting red furniture.
In the living room you can install a sofa with exquisite upholstery in a metallic shade or wet asphalt color. The upholstery material used is natural leather, leatherette or luxurious tapestry.
Furniture and storage systems
Since the apartment is intended for short-term rental, there are few storage systems.
The main one is a tall closet in the hallway, divided into several sections, where you can store almost everything: from clothes to cleaning supplies. The router and electrical panel are hidden in one of the parts.
In the bathroom there is a cabinet for storing cosmetics and important little things like a hairdryer; in the same place, in the bottom drawer, the designer has provided space for a laundry basket and laundry detergent (the washing machine is installed right there, under the same table top with the cabinet). In addition, a cabinet above the toilet installation can become an additional storage place for household chemicals and bath accessories for residents.
The bed in the room has a lifting mechanism; bedding sets can be placed inside. A TV stand can also become an additional storage system.
Decor and lighting
For a laconic gray design, fixtures in the form of spotlights or a rich forged chandelier with crystal elements are suitable. Thanks to soft lighting, you can add new colors and beautiful shimmer to the room.
Lamps with colorful shades or colored lighting would also be appropriate here, which can become an incredibly rich accent in the living room and completely transform the interior.

Various decorative items will help complete the decoration of the room and deprive it of excessive severity and boringness. Silver, gold, glass and crystal elements will look sophisticated and elegant on a light gray background. You can change the interior perception with the help of a variety of figurines, vases, wall mirrors or paintings.
For the most calm design, decor in muted colors is used, and for a contrasting and emotional atmosphere, accessories in bright colors are used.
The furniture in the gray living room is complemented with fur capes and the room is decorated with live potted plants, vases with freshly cut flowers or tubs with mini trees.

Real photos of kitchens in pink tones
Information about design patterns is useful, but still the main thing in choosing an interior is to see and compare it with your concept of comfort. Look at what a pink kitchen looks like in photographs, they will point you in the right direction of your search.

Which curtains to choose?
To create a more classic setting, choose sand, cream, beige, soft blue or pink-peach curtains. Yellow or orange curtains harmonize well with the smoky interior palette, giving the room a certain emotionality.
For a plain wall covering, you can choose patterned textiles with elegant stripes, floral prints or abstraction.

Peculiarities of color perception
Light shades of pink tones make a pleasant impression. Moderate colors refresh, evoke a feeling of tenderness, and set the mood for relaxation and romance. These shades are confidently used as the dominant background. It is possible that there are delicate inclusions playing secondary roles.
Use options such as fuchsia with caution. Bright pink shades, which have gained the right to quickly dominate, risk causing rejection. The interior also looks intrusive and tasteless.
Few people will like a design in the spirit of a Barbie room. Intense tones are only suitable for highlighting accents. They should not occupy more than 30% of the room's area.
Decoration of the hall in various styles
Quartz, coal, anthracite, granite and other gray colors best reveal the specifics of various style solutions.
Modern style in the interior of a gray living room
For example, for the high-tech direction, a silver and steel palette is especially often used, which is combined with white, black, red colors, metal and gloss elements.
Authentic Scandinavian homes suggest pearl gray tones, while French interiors feature warm and soft gray colors.

The monochrome palette is an almost integral part of laconic minimalism. The interior is sometimes diluted with a bright accent in the form of a wall painting, sofa cushions or one chair.
Gray is no less popular in the industrial loft style. Concrete, brick or plaster surfaces combine favorably with light gray curtains and a sofa with mouse-colored upholstery.
Classic style in the living room
Light gray shades of Gainsborough or zircon blend into the classic design and are ideally combined with snow-white stucco decor and wooden furniture with carvings or forging.
For neoclassicism, the use of elegant gray-beige colors is assumed. To create a truly aristocratic atmosphere, the living room is decorated with bronze decor, crystal lamps and furniture with gold or silver patination.

Kitchen Design Styles
Color that promotes relaxation is not organic in every style. Some of them are presented to your attention.
Classical
Classics favorably perceive restrained, pastel colors. Pink wallpaper can be plain or with a faint pattern. A solid wood kitchen can be complemented with a rose quartz countertop. Pink-gold and gray-pink combinations are acceptable.
Retro
Retro involves a mixture of memory styles, the main features of which remain striped patterns, polka dots, and floral patterns. There is no place for soft pink colors here. Instead, coral, ash pink, peach.
Provence
In the Provence style, hot pink can only be present in the design of textiles, curtains and wallpaper. Chains of powder colors, gray-pink and green, blue, and beige are possible as primary colors.
Modern
Modern style or Contemporary is characterized by laconic forms and colors. Modern materials can be used on a par with classic wood and stone.
A gray and pink room might include pink walls, a gray kitchen with wood countertops, and a breakfast bar by the window.
Mass-produced furniture is functional and its color is far from saccharine. The dusty shade acts as a leader in combinations - pink with green, pink with black, pink-brown.
Ethnic
From a long list of ethnic groups, color is characteristic of the exotic India and Arab countries, and mainly in a bright, saturated version. Arabic and Indian style are fans of the crimson tone in wall painting, carpets and textiles.
Egyptian and African prefer the sandy shades of their native deserts. In Italian, light pink, borrowed from natural stone, predominates.
Shabby chic
An example of a shabby chic style would be a white kitchen with a pink backsplash and matching chair covers. The combination of pink and white, which is a must on the ceiling, is soft. Only pastel colors are used.
Japanese style
The style stands out from the general ethnic trend due to its minimalist furnishings, external fragility and simplicity. Pink is reminiscent of cherry blossoms, but is only present in the details, of which there are few.
For the most part, natural colors from sand to black are in demand. A pink kitchen with a black countertop will be a compromise between tradition and the desire to bring freshness to the interior.
Japanese style has much in common with minimalism, but the furniture is devoid of massiveness. A kitchen set with pink facades can be adjacent to open shelves.
As for the dining table, the Japanese have a low table. In Russia, people are not used to sitting on mats or pillows, so they set up a regular table with a brown top.
Bright pink-gray color in the interior
If we want to introduce pink into modern design, it is better to decide on a lively, intense shade, such as fuchsia, amaranth or rich purple. To create such bright accents, you can use wall paint or wallpaper, as well as photo wallpaper.
Beautiful modern photo wallpapers will add character and a fashionable look to your interior.
These colors will make an ideal combination with grey, black or shiny metal interior trim. They will look both glamorous and loft style with appropriate accessories and additives.
You can paint only one wall or a fragment of it with pink paint. In a calm interior, pink accessories such as pillows, blankets and ceramics will catch our attention and enliven it. For the kitchen, intense pink is good for countertops or cabinet fronts.
No matter what decorations we choose for our interior, we must remember the most important rule: the colors you choose should reflect your taste and style. So you shouldn’t follow the fashion for a certain color just because all the magazines and interior design websites write about it. Let's make changes gradually by introducing new interior additions and accessories that will help us evaluate whether we have chosen the right direction.
Gray and pink in the interior - a fashionable combination
For many years, white dominated our homes as the most popular wall color. This choice was not accidental, because it is believed that only light walls can protect our small apartments from the feeling of small space. Fortunately, trends are changing and new shades and design options are coming into fashion that do not limit the space with monotonous colors.
Properly selected colors not only do not optically shorten the interior, but also give it more cheerful and cheerful notes and give it character. Also, the use of two colors helps to divide the interior into zones depending on their purpose, without the need to install walls or other partitions. Sometimes it's worth summoning all your courage to break old habits and freshen up the appearance of your home in a very simple and inexpensive way using a can of spray paint.
