For loft-style interiors, wrought iron and iron beds would be a good solution.

Wooden double beds “Neiden” and “Rikene” will be appropriate in eco, ethno, and loft styles.

Brimnes

The compact Brimnes double bed is ideal for small bedrooms. It allows you to make the most of the available space. The basic set can be supplemented with drawers. They can successfully replace a chest of drawers if there is little space in the room. Bedside tables are not needed if you choose a set with a headboard equipped with built-in shelves. The minimalist design of the Brimnes double bed is suitable for interiors in different styles.

IKEA produces the Brimnes bed in white and black in sizes:

  • 140x200 cm;
  • 160x200 cm.

The price depends on the configuration and starts from 4,999 rubles.

Advantages:

  • Stylish design suitable for different interiors;
  • ease of assembly;
  • functionality and practicality.

Flaws:

  • creaks;
  • the drawer handles have very sharp corners;
  • Chipboard crumbles during use.

With lifting mechanism

Although drawers are a more convenient place for storage, the bedroom area does not always allow them to be extended to their full depth. Therefore, a lifting mechanism would be a more practical solution. Among such models are “Brimnes” and “Malm”.

Malm with lifting base

According to customer reviews, the lifting mechanisms of both are very light and convenient, after several years of operation they have never broken down, the storage box is huge and very roomy. But the lifting mechanism also has disadvantages compared to storing in drawers: more dust gets under the bed, so storing clean bed linen there is unhygienic. But for shoe boxes, travel bags, suitcases and anything that you rarely use, this is the best place.

Iron and forged

A steel frame is considered the most durable and reliable, however, even such a bed can begin to creak over time. This is the result of poor quality assembly. And the easiest way to get rid of squeaking is to drop a little ordinary vegetable oil at the junction of the structural parts.

Forged beds in the interior can look no worse, and sometimes better, than models made of wood and chipboard. The main thing is to beat them competently. And in the loft style this will be the most successful solution.

There are steel beds in the series: “Leyervik”, “Sagstua”, “Nesttun”.

“Leirvik”, 160x200, 8,999 rub.

“Sagstua”, 160x200, 11,999 rub.

The disadvantage of wrought iron and iron beds is their cold surface. If you want to lean your elbows on the headboard, it will not be as comfortable and convenient as with beds made of other materials.

With soft headboard

Beds with soft upholstery look more comfortable in the interior. They will fit perfectly into the bedroom design in both classic and modern styles. Even without a pillow, they are pleasant and comfortable to lean on in a sitting position to read before bed or watch TV. But their cost is much higher.

Beds with a soft headboard upholstered in polyester are available in the “Idanes”, “Vadheim”, “Slattum”, “Tyfjord” series.

“Slattum”, RUR 12,999 (160x200 cm)

“Vadheim, 36,999 rub. (160x200 cm)

“Tyfjord”, 49,999 (180x200 cm)

The set includes metal legs, but some buyers exchange them for wooden ones, which also look very harmonious.

“Idanes”, RUR 27,999 (160x200 cm)

Advantages and disadvantages according to customer reviews

Although the Malm is not the cheapest bed in IKEA, it is quite popular.
Therefore, a lot of reviews can already be found on it on the Internet. So, why does this bed deserve high marks:

1. Possibility to organize storage, functionality.

There are three purchasing options here: a simple frame without storage compartments, a frame with a lifting mechanism, and a frame with storage drawers, which can be purchased separately.

Lifting mechanism The drawers on the sides slide out. Beds for sale with 2 or 4 drawers

2. High berth.

The height of the footboard is about 38 cm.

3. Easy to assemble according to the attached instructions.

Based on customer reviews, this bed earned a rating of 4 out of 5 on popular review sites.

What are its shortcomings?

1. Sharp corners.

They are written about in almost every review. If there are small children in the house, then they are likely to get bruises on their legs.

2. Weak headrest

, which wobbles if you lean on it.

Also rarely mentioned in reviews, but there was another negative - creaking. But because This drawback was identified by only 15 percent of buyers; it can be assumed that the creaking may be caused by poor-quality assembly or careless operation.

Inexpensive

If the budget for furnishing a bedroom does not exceed 15 thousand, then it is worth taking a closer look at the series “Neiden”, “Brimnes”, “Rikene”, “Songesand”, “Nesttun”, “Sagstua”, “Askvol” and “Malm”.

"Songesand"

The cheapest of these models at first glance may seem quite simple and ugly, for example, the Neiden series. But if you decorate the furniture with beautiful bed linen, a nice bedspread and pillows, you will eliminate this drawback. In addition, Neiden beds are made of unpainted pine, and this is an excellent material for creativity: the furniture can be repainted in a rich color or interestingly painted.

“Neiden”, cost of frame 160x200 cm - 2,799 rubles.

"Neiden" painted white

But you shouldn’t expect from a bed that costs 2-4 thousand that it will stand firmly for 200 years. The frame, even in appearance, is quite flimsy, so it’s definitely not worth jumping on such furniture, and it’s better to further strengthen the structure during assembly so that, at a minimum, it doesn’t creaked and, at most, did not fall apart after a week.

The bad news is also the fact that only the cheapest Luroy slatted base is suitable for this series, but judging by customer reviews, this is not always critical: for some it is convenient, for others it is not.

Otherwise, it’s an excellent budget option if you want to modify it or if, even in this form, it fits perfectly into your eco-style interior. Many people buy it to decorate their summer cottages and garden houses.

"Rikene" look more stylish. The back is decorated with steel elements, this already makes its appearance more interesting. But the quality of the frame is no better than the first option.
