Making interesting handicrafts for the home with your own hands is not only profitable, but also useful. This is an extremely exciting activity in which the whole family, including small children, can participate. In a short period of time, without having any experience in carrying out such creative projects, you can get an original decoration from ordinary things and scrap materials that will become an irresistible individual decor in the interior.

Curtains made of beads

With fishing line and beads, you can create a weightless curtain. It can be hung in a doorway or used to divide a room into functional zones. There are many photos on the Internet of ways to decorate a room using such curtains.

You can take glass, wooden, plastic or expensive crystal beads, it all depends on your budget.

At the end of each piece of fishing line, tie a knot, put on a bead and make another knot. Knots are tied to prevent the beads from slipping into one necklace. When there is space between the beads, it creates the feeling of them floating in the air.

Poufs from old magazines

If you have large stacks of old glossy magazines at home, do not rush to throw them away. Laminated pages can withstand stress and moisture very well. That is why magazines can be used as material for decoration, or more precisely for creating ottomans.

In addition to a large stack of magazines, you will need two large belts and a small pillow. It is enough to cover the stack of presses with a seat cushion and wrap it with belts on both sides. Tighten the buckles tightly to prevent the glossy pages from slipping out from under the pillow.

Wood cut decor

Decorative elements made from natural wood are very suitable for houses in Provence, eco, and country styles. You can make many interesting objects from sawn wood. Large stumps can become poufs; it is enough to place pillows on top of them.

In small cuts, you can make indentations and treat them with acrylic. This way you can make a vase for fruit or even fresh flowers. Screw furniture wheels to the cut and get a mobile coffee table.

Interior decoration with knitted items

Today, knitting is one of the most popular types of needlework. After all, not only grandmothers knit, but also young people.

You can decorate your home with a wide variety of knitted items that are best suited to interiors in country, Provence or retro style. These are mainly various napkins, vases, etc.

If there is already a boring old floor lamp in the house, you can give it a second life with the help of knitting. Thanks to the technique of tying objects, you can update the lampshade.

To do this, you will need threads that match the color of the interior. Or, on the contrary, contrasting ones, if you need to focus on a certain area.

You can make very interesting candlesticks with your own hands. To do this, you need to take jars that are suitable in shape and size and crochet them. Any openwork pattern you like will do.

During daylight hours, such a candlestick will be an excellent decoration for your home. And in the evening it will surprise you with its stunning lighting effects, thanks to which comfort and warmth will come to your home.

Thus, with the help of strapping, new life can be given to many interior items. For example, pots, vases, cups, pillows.

As a result, you will be able to get a completely new and unique thing that will give you bright and positive emotions.

Storage system made of wooden boxes

Wooden boxes that are thrown away by fruit and vegetable sellers will help you efficiently and beautifully organize the storage of things in your home. The boxes need to be pre-treated with sandpaper and painted in the color you want, after which you can decorate them with your own hands to your own taste.

Ready-made boxes can be hung on the wall as high shelves, placed vertically on the floor for open storage, for example, towels in the bathroom. In the kitchen, you can store vegetables in wooden boxes so that it doesn’t get in the way; screw furniture wheels to it and roll it under the table or into a cabinet under the sink.

The bedroom is a place of relaxation. There is no need to overload it with decorations. A few elements will be enough. The wall of the room is decorated with family photos, and a homemade patchwork blanket is placed on the bed. The design of bedside rugs should be made in the same style. An original solution is to use fabric birds, which are hung above the bed by satin ribbons.

The bathroom is a place of cleanliness and self-care. You can decorate it with shells and pebbles. A lot of things and accessories are stored in this room, so you can make homemade panel organizers. Tricks of life

At the beginning of the century, British journalist Danny O'Brien combined two words and introduced a new one into circulation - “life hacking”.

The word has become unusually popular and is used to denote an original, unusual approach to solving various problems.

Designers also began to use it in their vocabulary, advising their clients on a variety of home decor hacks.

Let’s consider what unusual things experts advise when decorating a “capital” apartment.

Second life for glass jars and bottles

You can make stylish decorative items from unnecessary glass containers. The instructions on how to properly make glass decor are extremely simple.

Place thick candles in glass jars, sprinkle pebbles, glass balls for decoration or beads around. Narrow glass bottles can be used as flower vases.

There is also a use for jars of baby puree. You need to remove the stickers from the jars; to do this, warm them with a hairdryer or keep them in hot water. Place a magnet sticker on the side of the jars.

You can pour spices into jars and attach them to the refrigerator wall using magnets. If desired, the jars can be signed.

New Year's spirit in the bedroom

Candles, New Year's textiles and garlands will help create a festive atmosphere in the bedroom. Appropriate decorative sofa pillows or a collection of pillowcases with a Christmas print.

Traditional New Year's colors include red, white and green. You can also make a homemade checkered blanket more festive - for example, sew a braid with balls along the edge.

An elegant addition is compositions with candles. There is no need to light them at all, because the festive decoration will already bring the spirit of the New Year. Wooden cuts, dried flowers, animal figures - all this is appropriate. New Year's decor is complemented with eco-garlands made from pine cones, dried flowers and other natural materials.

Even dried oranges or other citrus fruits effectively enhance the Christmas atmosphere. Wooden cuts can be used as a basis for such a garland.

Decor from round boxes

Since the days of our mothers, round tin boxes of cookies and sweets have been used to store sewing supplies and other small items. Give tins a second life!

A large jar can be painted in a color that matches your interior and mounted on the wall. You will get a deep shelf on which you can place decorative elements or a not too heavy flower pot.

Painting based on foam plastic

An interesting decoration is obtained if sufficiently dense foam acts as the base. This material is distinguished by its plasticity and elasticity, for which it is valued in home crafts. For a painting that will elegantly fit into a child's room, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • fabric scraps, the color of which corresponds to the picture selected for production;
  • foam sheet of the required size;
  • copy paper;
  • PVA glue;
  • soft simple pencil;
  • scissors with small blades;
  • a flat spatula used for patchwork, or other sharp object needed to press out the contours of the design;
  • seam ripper.

Algorithm of actions:

  1. On the foam plastic, straight lines are marked from all edges at a distance of 15-25 mm from the edges. The resulting rectangle is pressed with a spatula.
  2. Copy the picture onto polystyrene foam. The contours of all the details of the pattern are pressed using a spatula.
  3. A larger piece of fabric matching the tone is applied to one of the fragments, pre-lubricated with glue.
  4. Using a steamer, carefully press the material into the pre-pressed contour.
  5. Tuck all ends inward. The result should be an element with a smooth surface without distortion of the pattern.
  6. Fill out the entire drawing one by one. For the finished work, a fabric frame is made, also tucking the ends of the textile into the pressed outline.

Very cute and soft paintings made of fabric and foam plastic will appeal to the whole family

Slate surfaces

In construction stores you can now find special slate paint. On a surface painted with it, you can write with chalk, like on a blackboard. This paint can be used to paint a wall in the kitchen or the wall of a refrigerator.

You can also cover a cutting board with black slate paint and hang it on the wall. On the black surface you can take notes, make a shopping list, menu, or leave motivating slogans for every day.

Herbarium under glass

Dried flowers and leaves can be placed in frames under glass. You can use craft paper as a background or even make a frame with transparent glass on both sides. In such a frame, the plant will be beautifully illuminated and will become a full-fledged decorative item.

Ideas for home decoration are literally floating around us. Take a closer look at the objects around you. Some of them can certainly be used to decorate your home.

Flowerpots

An interesting craft for home decoration, which can be placed in the hallway or any other room in the apartment, will be a homemade basket.

Typically, people throw paper bags in the trash. And from them you can make a very beautiful functional thing.

In addition to the packages you will need:

  • Wooden skewers;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue;
  • Small plastic container.

Progress:

  1. Eight strips seven by thirty centimeters wide in length are cut.
  2. The strip is wound in diagonal turns onto a skewer. We get a paper tube. Having removed the skewer, you should glue the resulting workpiece.
  3. The remaining tubes are made in the same way.
  4. While the workpieces are drying, paper is glued to the plastic container.
  5. All eight tubes are glued to the bottom of the container (from the outside) so that they form rays diverging in different directions.
  6. Strips measuring forty-five by seven centimeters are cut.
  7. The blanks are prepared exactly according to the same principle as in the first case.
  8. The blanks previously attached to the bottom are lifted and pressed against the walls of the vessel.
  9. The prepared blanks (their quantity depends on the height of the vessel) are used to weave a flowerpot.
  10. Two holes are made in the upper part of the vessel, through which a rope is passed and a handle is formed.

An unusual but very elegant flowerpot is ready. All that remains is to choose a place in which part of the apartment to hang it.
