“Solsta” is the simplest, budget option of all the double sofas presented in the line. It folds out easily - you just need to pull the structure up, holding the edge of the seat. When folded, two sections are located inside the housing. There is no usual folding mechanism; the floor will serve as a support. The lower part is motionless, equipped with two foam mattresses, which serve as a sleeping place. Manufacturer's warranty on the product is 1 year.

This sofa is not suitable for frequent use as a bed, as the soft elements will wear out quickly.

Please note that you need to sleep with your feet towards the head of the chair, since when unfolded, a hard wooden surface remains under the seat. It will be uncomfortable to sleep with your head on it.

As a temporary sleeping place to accommodate guests 2-3 times a year, it might be fine. But if you sleep on it often, back and neck pain will become your constant companions.

Personally, I’m not at all happy with the mattresses in IKEA folding sofas. About 3 years ago I burned myself when I bought a Vilasund sofa bed for 54 thousand rubles. I was specifically looking for a model for (I emphasize!) everyday sleep. Therefore, I did not spare any money. But after a year and a half, the mattress began to crawl, on an expensive model! Now his back hurts. And this also takes into account that the mattress rests on a base of slats.

And the Svenst sleeping place doesn’t even have a base. Therefore, sleeping on it is almost the same as sleeping on the floor with a mattress. If the floor is cold, it will be uncomfortable and unsafe for health.

There are 2 versions of this sofa - with fabric upholstery Ransta dark gray (art. 601.190.96) and leatherette Idgult black (art. 902.023.67). The fabric is, of course, simple, but you shouldn’t expect a miracle for 4,999. The Solsta sofa made of leatherette looks much cooler, but also costs almost 2 times more. Experienced IKEA sellers also know that there are covers for these sofas, which are sold as if to order directly in the store from IKEA fabric, costing about 4,500. The cover is convenient because it keeps the sofa “brand new”; it can be washed separately and changed separately if it gets worn out, torn or just tired. Another quite simple option is to cover the sofa with a blanket, the price of a blanket starts from 599, and not of the worst quality. Cheaper Polarvide and Krokris fleece blankets will become very electrified and, frankly, are too small for this purpose.

However, when comparing the Solsta to the more expensive Knopparp, the Solsta is still more versatile.

Assembly, delivery.

It’s interesting that the Solsta Sofa is sold assembled, well, almost assembled, with legs attached under the bottom that you need to screw in yourself (using a flat-head screwdriver). In fact, a screwdriver is not even necessary, just insert the bolt and twist the legs until they stop. For those who have a small car and the entire sofa does not fit, it is possible to unscrew the sides, you will get a set of 2 side panels, a bottom and a back. When disassembled, the sofa fits even in a medium-sized sedan, and there is still room left.
