Another situation is also possible - you collect dolls and are seriously interested in creating the proper environment for them, close in its parameters to the truthful one. In both of the above cases, you will be dealing with the need to create bedroom interiors for dolls, an integral part of which is the space and decoration of the bed as the main element of any bedroom.

Why does a dollhouse need bedding for a crib?
It would seem that dolls can definitely do without bed linen, so why waste time? Look for ready-made kits on sale or do handicrafts... In fact, linen for dolls plays an important role (of course, not for the dolls themselves), and for these reasons:
- If you are concerned about the interior of your dollhouse, then it is almost certain that a bedroom with a bare bed or a bed covered with only one doll blanket will not look nice.
- It is important for your child to recreate some semblance of the human world in games, so when he asks the question of why the dolls sleep without bedding, this will probably puzzle you.
- With the help of bedding for a doll's bed, you can instill in your child the important qualities of a real housewife. If there is linen on the bed, you can ask your daughter to change sets, washing them at the same time. Your child will certainly enjoy this form of play, and you will develop in your child the correct habits for changing and washing clothes. Thus, you will kill several birds with one stone.
Bed set for a doll
The main principle of creating bedding for dolls is their maximum identity with their “human” counterparts. You must understand that the more similar the items for the dollhouse are, the more delight they will cause both you and your child. This is the main highlight and the main difficulty of modeling of this kind. Not everyone has the nerves, strength and patience for such painstaking work.
What qualities should bedding sets for a doll have?
Since everything related to children and their interaction must meet certain requirements, linens for a doll’s bed are no exception.
- Safety: Since your child will be in direct contact with the products, they should be hypoallergenic and pleasant to the touch. Since children's skin is quite delicate, it quickly reacts to all sorts of irritants. Choose fabrics for making bedding for dolls from natural materials. It can be cotton, linen, silk and so on.
- Aesthetics: beautiful things should be before your child’s eyes. When choosing decent options for bedding sets for a doll's house, you must choose the color and texture of the material to match the interior created in the doll's bedroom. This way you can instill in your child a sense of style and taste.
- Durability: You should be prepared for the fact that your child will endlessly straighten and make the bed, placing dolls there. In a word, the material for bedding should be “resilient” and durable so that your child does not tear it on the first day.
- Environmentally friendly - bedding for dolls should be made from environmentally friendly materials, without the use of chemical additives and dyes.
- Practicality - the fabric for bedding for dolls must be practical so that the child can wash it, dry it, change sets of linen, etc.
Typical doll crib set
As in the case of “human” bedding, a set for dolls should consist of:
The bed must have a mattress, pillows, and blanket. Alternatively, you can cover your doll's bed with a doll's crib blanket.
If you want to sew a set of underwear for dolls yourself, then you can do this by looking at the rules for sewing ordinary products for people. The only point is that you need to reduce the scale, otherwise you can follow all the instructions. The mattress, as a rule, is made of padding polyester, the blanket and pillow are made of ecofiber.
Pattern
An experienced seamstress carries out sewing without using a pattern for a duvet cover, pillowcase and sheet, but a novice master needs it. On the Internet you can find diagrams for any size bed. You can also use our examples of cutting bed linen.

I'm telling you how to make a quilt (not my idea). In the photo there is a future blanket for a bunk bed that is in a dollhouse in a children's nursery. So, I sewed a blanket cover, turned it inside out, steamed it with an iron and drew a grid (4 squares by 4, each equal to 5 cm by 5.5 cm + 1 cm).

The pillows also contain ecofiber.

Bed sheets. Wraparound pillowcases (the photo shows how to put them on).

In this photo the blanket is draped over the pillows.
I thought for a long time about how wide this blanket should be: the bed is a double, which means we need to take into account the width of the bed + the height of the blanket for two dolls, and I really didn’t want it to hang too much from the bed, and there was also a blanket on top.

I knitted a simple blanket.

I sewed almost the same accessories and bedding for the bed of our schoolgirl doll.

Waiting for Blythe. How Agasha sewed a mattress for a doll + master class
Good afternoon) yes, Agasha has already grown up to the master class and is in a hurry to share with you! Agasha's birthday is coming up, September 2, she is expecting Blythe as a gift, and so that the wait would not be so painfully long, she is getting ready, sewing, sculpting something))) and when her doll arrives to her, it will be fully equipped! Agasha often looks at Aliexpress for clothes and accessories for Blythe. But I don’t want to spend anything from 550 to 800 rubles for a mattress, and in the morning I offered to sew it ourselves. My daughter accepted this idea with enthusiasm! I took out my magic box of fabric and found a new cloth there from Fix Price) just enough for a mattress! AND the color is such that you can sew Totoro - one of the favorite characters of the Japanese anime, Hayao Miyazaki. I’ll warn you right away that there will be a lot of photos, but this is necessary in order for MK to be understandable and accessible.
The length of the pattern turned out to be 43 cm, so that the finished mattress would be 33-35 cm. The finished width would be 20-22 cm. When cutting, it turned out to be about 30. Attention! It is necessary to take into account that this fabric is very! VERY!!! capricious, it twists and stretches strongly, it is necessary to constantly control it, pinching it with needles. I think it’s easier to sew with fleece, but it’s not so flimsy. But we chose this particular fabric, so we tried to curb it, tame it)))
You will need to sew 4 sectors, which will then be filled with stuffing. Leaving the top one more like a pillow. Each sector is approximately 7 cm, which is quite enough.
We pin off the parts with a pin so that it does not move under the presser foot.
At the same time, we cut out Totoro’s ears) and also chop them off with pins.
We sew as follows - the bottom, the long side and along the upper semicircle, leaving the second long side unsewn.
Here you can see that Agasha started sewing from the bottom edge.
Force Majeure! The needle is broken! Congratulations to you, daughter)))) well, how could it be otherwise, at least once in your life you have to break a needle!))) Agasha was a little scared at first, but I reassured her that this happens) we changed the needle, adjusted the thread tension and continued. By the way, Agasha sewed on 4th. That is, the stitch width is 4. The fabric is loose and thick, which means the stitch should be wider.
Despite the fact that everyone was pinning, the fabric moves a little in the process. Well, it doesn’t matter, we made more than enough reserves.
We turn it inside out and mark the lines on the right side again - only 4 sectors + head pillow. We also start the line on the right side! But we don’t sew until the end, about 1 cm.
We sew from the sewn edge to the unsewn one. There we will fill our mattress with stuffing.
Here Agasha is just measuring how much to sew without finishing, 1 cm will be enough.
And so on for all 4 sectors.
Ready! If the edges are not even, they can be trimmed.
Now for the stuffing! we fill it from narrow sectors, leaving the pillow-head for later.
Agasha makes sure that the filling is uniform, that there are no lumps and that each sector is filled equally.
When the mattress was completely stuffed, Agasha began to work on her ears. We did not insert them into the seam, since when filled they will simply slide back to the heads), so we will sew them just below the seam.
We turn the ears out, there is no need to fill them.
The mattress must be sewn up manually, slightly bending the edges inward, grabbing first one edge and then the other with a needle. and so on along the entire length.
The fabric is loose, terrible! and there was nothing to collect it with, neither with a dry hand nor with a wet one, so Agasha collected everything with a vacuum cleaner)) I am teaching my daughter to keep her work place in order throughout the entire needlework process.
While Agasha was vacuuming, I sewed on the ears; it was difficult for her.
My daughter was indescribably delighted with the almost finished result!)) and began to tickle Totoro’s belly))))
It already looks very cute!!!
But we need a face)
Agasha determines the center of the face and lays out the details of the face.
The eyes will be made of buttons, and the only nose we found is this one, without a stem, we will glue it on.
The factory Totoro has a leaf on his face, Agasha also wants one on her mattress)
The only green material in the house was knitwear, so we glued it onto cardboard, pulled the excess edges inward and covered it again with cardboard - for neatness!
Well beauty!!!
And this is the same mattress for which Agasha wanted to pay almost 800 rubles! An hour of sewing for pleasure and saving the family budget)))
While the owner of the future mattress is not there, Sonechka is posing))
If anyone hasn’t seen it, kigurumi are also Agashina’s work)
Another work of my daughter is finished. It turned out great! I haven’t run out of words of praise yet, I’m walking around, admiring, and praising my craftswoman)))) As planned, the finished mattress turned out to be 34 cm long
width - 20
Girls, thank you for watching the entire publication, that’s how long it turned out, with many photos and explanations. If anyone tries to sew such a mattress using Agashin’s MK, come visit and show us what you have done.
