The accordion partition mechanism combines two opening systems: hinged and sliding. The sashes placed near the walls are attached by means of hinges to the braces placed on the walls. Guides are mounted on the ceiling part. The folds move along them using a roller system.

The disadvantages of the accordion system include their rather noisy operation. It is necessary to provide additional sound insulation.

Directly among the disadvantages of the entire sliding partition system are:

• high price of most designs. Making stationary partitions from building materials is much cheaper;
• the degree of sound insulation is insufficient;
• possibility of drafts. Especially if the installation was done incorrectly.
