Design compositions featuring coniferous plants are impressive: alpine slides, rockeries, Japanese-style gardens, multifaceted mixborders, spectacular tapeworms, evergreen hedges, rich in color and forest spirit. Many summer residents strive to follow fashion trends, introducing coniferous trees and shrubs into their plots in addition to the usual decorative perennials. But not everyone, due to the lack of necessary space, certain knowledge, financial and sometimes physical capabilities, can decide on a grandiose floristic project. You can make a small flowerbed with conifers on six acres, especially since there are many low-growing species and varieties.
Thanks to coniferous plants, the garden plot becomes elegant, solemn, stylish and self-sufficient
Buildings at the dacha
Landscape design at the dacha begins with an assessment of the existing arrangement and outline of the plan. The first step is to determine the exact size and presence, as well as the location of the buildings.
The main detail of any garden is the house. The ideal place to place it is close to the entrance and parking lot so you don't have to carry heavy bags to and from your car across the lot.
Important! If you bought a garden without a house, build it in the same corner as most of your neighbors - this will simplify the choice of location and allow you to locate the living space away from prying eyes.
It is logical to place a garage or open parking right at the entrance, so that you do not have to drive your car through the entire territory.
Outbuildings (for example, a shed with garden tools and a wood shed), on the contrary, are hidden in the depths of the garden plot. Or they are placed in another convenient place, improved with the help of hedges, decorative trellises and other methods of vertical gardening.
Important! The utility block should not create a shadow on your dacha; the favorable side is north or north-west.

The recreation area includes various attributes, depending on the composition of the family and your personal preferences:
- gazebo, pergola or terrace;
- summer cuisine;
- pool or decorative pond;
- bath or sauna;
- children's or sports ground.
In landscape design, there are two accepted placement scenarios: in the backyard immediately behind the house, or in the depths of a summer cottage, hidden from prying eyes.
Basic Rules
The landscape design of the house and the entire territory should be in the same style or complement each other.
Identical elements located in different parts of the site will make the area more harmonious and holistic for perception.
Simplicity of design becomes the basis for creating a pleasant and comfortable place in all respects. Each building or smaller element must find its place in terms of ease of use and harmonious appearance.
The smooth transitions of lines will help create the illusion of more space; a small amount of bright colors will give the opportunity to rest the eyes and nerves, shaken by the stress of the big city.
To create such a light design, avoiding massive buildings and high fences, using natural materials and green hedges will help.
Although modern landscape design styles are still aimed at minimalism in everything, including the number of plants.
How can you design reservoirs?
Looking at fire and water calms and energizes. The element of fire is used in every summer cottage (stove, barbecue, fireplace, hearth), and bodies of water are still a rarity in landscape design. Depending on the desire and size of the dacha, both functional (swimming pool) and decorative (pond, waterfall) water source options are available.
The pool is installed in a recreation area: if the constant climate does not allow digging and arranging it, use a simple inflatable or frame pool - you can find any shape and size on sale.
Advice! Don't forget to place furniture near the pool (sunbeds, a small table) and make a shelter from the sun (umbrella or canopy).

Modern
The main goal of this design will be the combination of natural principles and modern embodiment. The style is characterized by the rigor of natural lines, the naturalness of the colors used, the functionality and thoughtfulness of each element.
In what style can it be decorated?
Perhaps the most popular direction in the CIS is country music. The rustic style involves abundant use of wood, landscaping is done with fruit trees and shrubs, and there is enough space left on the site for a vegetable garden.

When the main landscape objects are included in the project, it’s time to start working on the details. With their help, you can stylize the area and give it a look of completeness. For the most part, this is landscaping the territory, creating decorative compositions and designing recreation areas.
Coniferous plants in the design of the estate
The less land is allocated for decorative landscaping of the site, the more concise and simpler the compositions of shrubs and trees should be. The universal type of vegetation in this case is conifers: they easily tolerate pruning, making it easier to regulate their growth.
In the inner territory of the yard, low-growing thujas, spruces and junipers are grown, which are characterized by small annual growth.
1. Thuja western Smaragd (Smaragd). 2. Prickly spruce Iseli Fastigiate (Iseli Fastigiate). 3. Horizontal juniper Limeglow (Lime Glow). 4. Juniper scaly Blui Swede (Blue Swede). 5. Thuja occidentalis Golden Globe (Golden Globe). 6. Thuja occidentalis Woodwardii (Woodwardy).
Creeping forms of conifers are especially popular. They are used in mixborders and planted on mowed lawns, forming beautiful lush clumps.
They are also ideal for decorating rocky mini-gardens.
Important. When selecting trees and shrubs for a country house, you should take into account what size they will reach in adulthood. A tree that is small at first can grow into a powerful plant that disrupts the harmony in the landscape of the site.
Garden paths
There is no need to delay laying paths between the gate and the porch of the house, the yard and technical buildings. These are the main objects that are connected by the shortest routes. The paths between them should be straight and wide enough so that two people can easily pass each other or a wheelbarrow with a load can be transported.
Because the main paths are used frequently, the surface is subject to constant stress. Therefore, they must be strong enough, for example, made of paving stones or paving slabs.
Garden paths of secondary importance can be made in a zigzag configuration or with smooth bends. They are laid between flower beds and the most beautiful objects on the site, and the route is thought out in such a way that the landscape opens up from the most advantageous positions. You can wait a while with their device. After about a year, the soil will be trampled down in places where people walked, and secondary paths can be laid along these trajectories.
High tech
Modern styles are subordinated to the ideas of minimalism in everything.
Clear paths will lead owners exactly where they wanted to go, without any deviations along the way, using no more than three colors will help calm the eyes and nerves, modern technologies are designed to make life convenient with a minimum amount of resources expended.
Flowers and shrubs are small in size and there are relatively few of them.
