White tiles and bathroom
White bathroom tiles are sometimes mistakenly associated only with a minimalist, slightly ascetic interior. The richness of shapes, textures and formats of white tiles makes them the perfect base for an elegant, nature-inspired or eclectic bathroom.
This is noticeable in the photo of white tiles in the bathroom.
- As a versatile base, white tiles pair perfectly with almost any other material.
- Plus, white doesn't have to be boring - the texture and different surface finishes give it character.
- A well-designed white bathroom is eye-catching.
- White is an elegant color for discreet styling. An interesting way to use it is the classic combination of white and black tiles.
- These are exquisite and very elegant arrangements that can fully be considered classics of the genre.
- In general, white is a shade in which any contrast appears naturally and elegantly.
White tiles are a style that designers and architects love. You can be sure that he will not soon cease to be in demand.
Grout
The seams between the tiles should fit harmoniously into the overall pattern of the room. If the bathroom cladding consists of color combinations, you can use colored grout.
However, it should be remembered that gray or black seams not only look original, but also have a practical side. Such seams will have to be cleaned much less frequently, which will make maintenance easier.
Glossy White Bathroom Tiles
Interior lighting is another advantage of this type of finishing material. If you want to improve the lighting even further, just choose glossy white bathroom tile models.
This arrangement is welcome in small bathrooms, where it is usually recommended to use light colors, as well as on small sections of walls in rooms with a large area.
Lighting
One of the most important conditions for quality relaxation is proper lighting. In this case, it should not be too bright or too dark. Most often, ceiling-mounted lamps or wall lamps are used for the bathroom. A white bathroom creates a feeling of additional space and light, so basic central lighting, as well as decorated lighting - in the form of mini lamps on the mirror or LED strip in the cabinets - will be sufficient. Do not forget that safe lamps must comply with the high “protection against water ingress” marking.
White 3D bathroom tiles
The volumetric texture allows you to emphasize the white color, which is often associated with something ordinary, sterile and not very interesting.
Modern technologies are helping to improve the design of tiles, thanks to which they can successfully compete with many other finishing materials.
What to combine with
You can soften pure white by matching it with other colors. He looks great in any company. One of the most popular “duets” is white and wood, although you can also often find proposals to combine it with red, gray and imitation stone.
The old tile trend is another opportunity to use white in bathrooms because it is definitely the best color for them.
White and wood
White tiles in the bathroom will become truly impressive and interesting only when the appropriate addition is added.
- One of the best “friends” of white is wood, which against a bright background demonstrates all the richness of its shade and texture.
- And white tiles in combination with wood eliminate its inherent coldness in favor of a cozy character, which is especially important in the rest area of the bathroom.
- So how to fit wooden elements into a white interior?
The easiest way is to contrast white walls with a floor that imitates wood, in the form of porcelain stoneware panels or tiles. However, if you want to give the bathroom a more extravagant character, a wooden countertop under the washbasin is suitable, which will beautifully diversify and “warm” the room.
Wooden furniture elements such as shelves, niches or cabinet doors, and small decorations also go well with white tiles. When skillfully combined, white tiles also look great on the bathroom floor.
Examples of projects
Finally, let’s look at photos of several Russian projects in which designers approached the use of light tiles in bathroom design in completely different ways.
Playing with textures
Increasingly, bathroom design is moving away from mono-finishes and using several materials, textures and colors. This project is a prime example of such a combination. Three main elements coexist in the room: deep gray-blue paint, figured light tiles, and a pronounced wood texture.
Moisture-resistant paint is used in dry areas and in the upper part of the walls; below, there are small white tiles along the perimeter. Here the authors of the project used an interesting technique: instead of laying out a fairly large area with the same hexagon, in some places they diluted it with a chevron. Due to the partial similarity of the forms, an original effect was achieved: the finish seems to be pulled upward, smoothly changing its appearance.
Otherwise, a large amount of white visually enlarges the space and balances the rather dark paint color. And wood, due to its natural warm texture, adds coziness to the room. It is complemented by precious metal fittings.
Graphic design
White tiles in the bathroom don't necessarily mean a completely light palette. For example, in this project it plays an unusual role as an accent and works as a zoning tool. In total, there were three types of finishes in the room.
- Mustard-colored wall panels, behind which communications are hidden (the toilet bowl matches them).
- Large slabs of porcelain stoneware line the walls and floor of the spacious shower box.
- Small rectangular tiles in the sink area.
Despite the neutral color, the wall in the part of the bathroom where the washbasin is located turned out to be accentuated thanks to small tiles, vertical placement and contrasting grout. It is echoed by textured black details that unite all types of finishes.
White and pastel
White goes well with all shades of soft, soft pastel colors - from sand, pink and apricot to soft blue, aqua, mint and violet.
By choosing this option in combination with subtle geometric motifs, you will be able to create an overall impression of lightness in the interior. By adding delicate pastel accents in the form of selected decorative elements, such as washbasins or shelves, the effect of a harmonious complement will be ensured.
Note: The proportions of pastels in the interior should be well balanced, as they affect the perceived shade of white.
Elegant tiles
Bathtubs with white tiles will never go out of style because they have a timeless elegance. Bright, clean colors create the impression of freshness and spaciousness typically found in palace spaces.
White color also attracts with shimmering gold or silver decorations, which define the luxurious character of the room.
- One way to achieve this in the bathroom is to use white marble, which has always been associated with chic, sophistication and sophisticated style.
- Following trends brings freshness and fashionable decor to the interior. But you can also create an original and modern composition using universal materials.
- White tiles of different shapes and sizes, inspired by the beauty of natural stone or the tradition of good design, are ideal for bathrooms decorated in many fashionable styles. White tiles look great in a small bathroom.
By combining white tiles with matching accessories, you can easily create a dream composition that is full of brightness, space and unique charm. And all this brings with it, including the magnificent white color.
Techniques for creating comfort
In the photo, the design of a black and white bathroom always looks very impressive and stylish. But it is also quite cold. In everyday life, many people want to add warmth to such interiors. Here's how to do it.
- Wood is the main “softener” of any cold and dark design. A wooden cabinet, shelves or stands will add comfort and moderate warmth.
- Wood-like rattan can also be used to create a mood: wicker laundry baskets, glasses, boxes - you can get by with the details.
- There are never enough living plants, especially in a spacious room. Without a source of natural light, dracaena, sansevieria, some types of palm trees and, for example, ivy will survive.
- It is better not to use artificial plants at all, but to replace them with dried flowers: lagurus, cortaderia or pampas grass, dried palm leaves.
- Nickel-plated and chrome-plated faucets are rarely found even in deliberately cold interiors. Designers often use warm metals: copper and brass. Why not borrow this approach from them?
- If you absolutely don’t like brass, you can replace the chrome faucet with a matte black model.
- Lighting is another component of the interior. Basic warm light cannot be called practical, especially if you prefer to apply makeup near a mirror. But a warm-colored LED strip can be used to illuminate shelves and niches.
- If the space allows, add decor: vases, baskets, boxes. Just don’t fill them with colorful little things, so as not to create a feeling of disorder.
- Candles, especially scented ones, can be used in a room of any size. It’s good if their packaging is stylish, then you can display the collection in a prominent place.
Arrangement ideas
A bright bathroom is a universal and stylish solution. Sometimes it's worth turning to something as seemingly trivial as designing a bathroom with white tiles to create a broad base for further action and open up space for experimentation.
Manufacturers' offers on the market include a wide range of solutions that work well without additional decorative accents. But white color provides limitless space for decoration.
Choosing quality tiles
Some time ago, it was possible to safely recommend material from Italian or Spanish manufacturers for use. However, new brands have now entered the market and are quickly gaining popularity. Therefore, when choosing tiles, it is worth checking with consultants about compliance with the standards and tolerances that determine the quality of the tile.
The following tolerances guarantee low porosity of the material, resistance to moisture, strength, good geometry and high wear resistance:
- UNI EN (Italian production);
- BS (made in Great Britain);
- DIN (Germany);
- ASTM-ANSI (American made);
- UPEG (French).
This product has no doubt about its quality and is characterized by a uniform and bright color.
