Guidelines for dressing room design

What is the first thing children and parents see when they come to kindergarten? It may be a children's playground, but within the group, the locker room first appears to the children's eyes. The design of a locker room in a kindergarten can attract a child or inspire horror, so much so that the child screams from the doorway: “Mom, take me home!” Today we will talk about what a good locker room in a preschool educational institution should look like and what should be in it.

Standard

Let's start with the requirements that the state imposes on this premises. The design of a locker room in a kindergarten according to the Federal State Educational Standard (FSES) is not clearly regulated; it is not specified what exactly should be there. However, from some points of the text of the law certain conclusions can be drawn:

  1. Information for parents. The Federal State Educational Standard implies that educating a child in preschool age is a joint process for which both the preschool educational institution and the parent are responsible. Thus, the entire process must be monitored and discussed. The following information may be present in the locker room:
      Schedule.
  2. Menu in the dining room.
  3. List of activities.
  4. List of events.
  5. Ads.
  6. Other information that needs to be conveyed to parents.
  7. Information for children (for example, traffic rules).
  8. Any other data that will allow the teacher to contact parents, but we will talk about this in more detail below.
  9. The locker room should be decorated in a bright, relaxed style, but at the same time with the opportunity to continue educational activities even here.

Thus, decorating a locker room in a kindergarten according to the Federal State Educational Standard is not difficult (the only problem inherent in any preschool educational institution is financing). All this is already done by local leaders, since this room is the “clothing” by which parents greet the kindergarten.

For administrative use

Let's start with what is easier to do. As already mentioned, the design of a locker room in a kindergarten includes information for parents. Moreover, this may not be a banal schedule on one piece of paper, but a whole pile of papers about the accreditation of a preschool educational institution, information about the teachers working here, and so on. When it comes to a large amount of information, you can create special folders.

The locker room probably has cabinets for shoes or accessories like umbrellas. You can make special brochures for parents. To do this, you will need a couple of binders and, in fact, printed material. There is no point in putting such information on public display, but any parent concerned about raising their child should have quick access to it.

Stands

Any other information can be placed on special stands. Decorating a locker room in a kindergarten implies the availability of general information for parents. We have already given the list.

In order to convey the necessary data to the recipient, the option of placing various stands is a good option. You can easily make stands for decorating a locker room in a kindergarten yourself. It is enough to buy thin plastic, film (the cheapest is 2 euros per square meter, and you won’t need more) and print the letters on any printer.

  1. You can use scissors to cut out the general shape of the stand of the required dimensions from plastic.
  2. Then cover it with film.
  3. Make pockets from the film in which to place sheets of information.

With this method you will significantly save on the design of the locker room. This method is suitable for those preschool institutions that are left without funding, but with activist teachers. In total, you will spend approximately 1000 rubles. If there are at least 20 people in the group, then it won’t be a problem for parents to chip in 50 rubles. for the decoration of the premises.

For richer kindergartens, there is an option to order ready-made stands for decorating the locker room in the kindergarten. However, this can cost about 1000 rubles apiece.

How to beautifully decorate a group in a kindergarten with your own hands for the New Year 2022 from paper

There are many craft ideas that you can actually make yourself. It comes out very inexpensively and looks nice. As holiday attributes, you can make carnival-type masks out of paper and distribute them to children, turning the holiday into an impromptu masquerade. For an idea, you can take the symbols of the Chinese New Year: horse, ox, rat, tiger, rabbit, snake, dog, rooster, sheep, pig, dragon.

Anyone who knows this technique can roll origami figures from paper, themed or not, to choose from.

How to make a Christmas tree using origami technique:

  1. Take a sheet of paper.
  2. It folds in half, diagonally, then unfolds and folds in half again, on the other diagonal.
  3. It unfolds again and folds in half across. It turns around again and bends in half again.
  4. Now folds diagonally into a triangle.
  5. On the right, the triangle bends inward.
  6. The same is done on the opposite side - an unfolded square is obtained.
  7. The right side is bent towards the center into a triangle, on the left side the same triangle is bent towards the center.
  8. The workpiece is placed on the other side and the same is done as above.
  9. One side is folded back and neatly folded inward. This is done with the other three sides as well.
  10. The lower triangular part is cut off with scissors.
  11. Small cuts are made on both sides, not reaching the center.
  12. The corners are bent downwards.
  13. The upper corner is not touched.

The parties straighten out. The Christmas tree is ready.

For children

Above, we examined the design of a locker room in a kindergarten with our own hands. Continuing this theme, you can connect with parents and add some interesting elements to such a hallway.

For example, traffic rules. Using the method already described, you can make a reminder for children so that when they leave the preschool, they always remember about safety. Or set up a stand with hygiene information. Let's call it “Aibolit Corner”. In general, any information that you consider necessary to convey to your child on a daily basis will do. Another good option, if space allows, is to place a stand in the locker room for children's appliques or drawings so that parents can view them. However, if you use a system of personalized lockers, you can attach special pockets directly to furniture doors.

As you can see, if you set out to decorate a locker room in a kindergarten with your own hands, then only your imagination can stop you.

European style

In private kindergartens in Europe, a functional interior is becoming increasingly popular: an abundance of different cabinets for toys, floor shelves for books, simple forms of furniture are complemented by cozy textiles and simple drawings on the walls.

The basis of this direction is the creation of a cozy and comfortable space using natural and environmentally friendly materials. Therefore, wood is often used in the interior, complementing it with elements of pastel shades.

Wall decoration

Discreet Europeans often create a fairly calm interior in pastel or natural light shades. Only one wall can be decorated, and the rest are made plain or with minimal decoration.

Furniture

Simple and comfortable furniture will be the best addition to such an environment: multifunctional cabinets, tables and chairs of classic shapes made of light wood or chipboard will create a simple and comfortable interior, emphasizing its environmental friendliness and naturalness.

Lighting

Lamps of simple shapes made of glass, metal or even rice paper will fit perfectly into the restraint of European design, and will also create the necessary degree of illumination.

The difference between zones and the orientation of rooms can be emphasized with the help of light elements of different shapes and textures.

Entry group

An elegant painting or decoration in the spirit of a magic castle is perfect for decorating the facade of a private kindergarten: a bright, noticeable sign and a spectacular picturesque facade are guaranteed to attract the attention of children and their parents.

If the room is small, then you can limit yourself to painting on the walls, but if the garden occupies the entire building, then turrets imitating a castle and a beautiful garden will create a feeling of being transported into a fairy tale.

Situation

Decorating a locker room in the junior group of a kindergarten (and in any other group) implies the presence of certain interior items. What should be present in this room?

  1. Firstly, it is a carpet (or rug, carpet), which will collect street dirt and dust, small in size so that it can be shaken out regularly.
  2. Named lockers according to the number of children. In younger groups, instead of names, you can use stickers with images of animals or plants.
  3. The benches for changing shoes are naturally low, designed for children, not adults.
  4. Hangers for outerwear, also personalized. If the drawers can store various wardrobe items, replacement shoes, accessories, and crafts that the child will take home, then you will have to hang winter outerwear on the hanger.
  5. Be sure to leave room for the mirror. It’s better even under several.

Manufacturing materials

In the production of children's furniture, various materials are used: MDF boards, chipboards, plastic, wood. All of them must meet certain safety requirements. MDF boards are most preferable for making kindergarten cabinets. The composition of the material includes fine sawdust, paraffin, and lignin for bonding. According to environmental indicators, the slabs meet sanitary requirements and do not cause harm to the child’s body. Chipboard is cheaper, but the formaldehyde resin component, which gives strength and moisture resistance to the material, causes mistrust, although in terms of emissions (evaporation) it is relatively safe.

When creating furniture for kindergartens, manufacturers combine different boards. Thus, when making cabinets, the main body is made of MDF, and the back walls, individual shelves, bottoms, and component materials are made of chipboard, which reduces the cost of the products. The combination of natural wood and MDF boards is most preferable, but such products are much more expensive. An important role is played by the presence of a quality certificate confirming the use of non-toxic materials in the manufacture of furniture.

Polyvinyl coatings are used to finish external surfaces, which makes them moisture-resistant, hygienic, and improves the performance of kindergarten lockers. Furniture can be coated with oil, nitro-enamel, and emulsion paints that provide smooth surfaces. Front fittings made of plastic have sufficient mechanical strength, allowing you to implement various artistic solutions for the design of cabinets.

Set and design of children's furniture for girls, selection criteria

The closet for towels in the toilet room should be particularly moisture resistant. In a multi-section design, each child knows his own shelf. Special templates with drawings that children love so much help kids remember the place. High-quality coatings, markings or stickers provide attractiveness for students and give the furniture an aesthetic appearance.

Palette

The last step will be to decorate the locker room in the kindergarten in a certain color palette. Ideally, it will be light, bright and sunny colors: yellow, red, green, light blue.

The locker room must have a window, and, if possible, facing west. If it’s dawn in the morning and it’s already light outside, the room will have enough lighting, but in the evening (in winter - almost at sunset) the sun will shine directly through the window, additionally illuminating the room.

We have already talked about personalized lockers. To help children remember their specific hangers/compartments, you can color them in different colors. In general, the room should be in a neutral style with relaxed patterns.

Example

Now let's look at the real situation and design of locker rooms in a kindergarten. The photo you can see above shows us an example of a perfectly planned locker room.

  • There is a mirror hanging right next to the exit.
  • In the center you can see benches for changing shoes, while leaving enough room for other people to maneuver.
  • Along the wall are cabinets with unique symbols and pictures. At the same time, they are painted in different colors, which will make it easier for children to remember their box.
  • There is a bedside table in front of the window where you can display information for parents.
  • Children's drawings are placed on the cabinets.
  • In the upper left corner you can see the daily routine.
  • On the opposite wall, hidden from us, there is plenty of space left to place any stands.

As you can see, decorating a locker room in a kindergarten is not such a problematic task. And most importantly, you can save a lot by doing the work yourself.

Volumetric letters

Three-dimensional figures and inscriptions are a very original decoration for any holiday. They also make them with their own hands. Let's consider two options: cardboard and polystyrene foam.

From cardboard

In this case, you will need regular and colored cardboard, scissors and glue. Craft process:

1. To begin, two identical letters are cut out of colored cardboard in a mirror image.

2. Strips of the same width are cut from plain cardboard and barrels are glued from them. The top and bottom of the barrels are sealed with plain paper.

3. Start sticking barrels onto one of the parts of the letter along its perimeter.

4. After everything has dried, glue the second letter onto the workpiece.

To avoid making paper barrels, you can replace them with plastic cups, but here you will need stronger glue.

Made from polystyrene foam

Regarding polystyrene foam, everything is quite simple here:

1. First, purchase a sheet of material of the required thickness.

2. Draw the outlines of the letters and carefully cut them out using a stationery knife. But, you need to be prepared for the fact that during the work process a lot of garbage will be generated from polystyrene balls.

3. If desired, the blanks can be painted with spray paint, decorated with rhinestones, sequins, beads, or an entire inscription can be cut out.

From polystyrene foam you can make not only three-dimensional letters or inscriptions, but also snowflakes and elements for composing a Christmas tree. Carved animal figures also look beautiful and original. Children will be delighted with them!
