When an apartment has just been renovated, you want to keep it looking “like in the picture” for a longer time. At least that's how it was for me. I was particularly concerned about gender, because... During the renovation process, my husband and I chose parquet boards. Parquet boards are beautiful, cheaper than real parquet, but not very practical because they are easy to damage.
We have 2 pieces of furniture on wheels at home: my husband's computer chair and my folding sewing table. It was these wheels that I wanted to somehow protect the parquet board from. My brother, who had solved a similar problem a year earlier, suggested that you can buy a special protective covering in Ikea, called “Kulun” - I had been to Ikea many times before, but I had never seen this thing.
“Kulun” is a rectangular sheet of thick, almost transparent plastic. It is, of course, noticeable on the floor, but does not hurt the eyes and does not spoil the view. The size of this sheet is 120*100 cm - this is quite enough for a computer chair, and it was also wide enough for my sewing table. The thickness of the coating is 2 mm - it is impossible to trip over it, but at the same time it is dense and quite heavy. It stays on the floor perfectly, does not slip, does not move.
There are no problems with maintenance - you can vacuum and wash with a damp cloth, just like the floor. Sometimes I raise it briefly, as the manufacturer recommends. Suitable for all floors except cork and heated floors.
After 4 years of use, whitish streaks appeared on the covering that lies under the computer chair - these are marks from the wheels, but the covering has not wrinkled, and the floor underneath is perfect. As for the sewing table, I rarely move it, so the cover underneath is almost like new.

The only thing that can be done is to replace the wheels of your computer chair with more gentle floor coverings. For example, for rubber. They will drive more quietly and will not scratch the floor.
