Types of filler

The variety of fillers is not inferior to the options for choosing fabric. Manufacturers offer synthetic winterizer, polyurethane foam, felt, struttofiber and foam rubber.

The nuances of working with leather

This material belongs to the natural category. Before treatment, the skin is checked for visible defects. To stretch the skin, only the cross section is used, so patterns must be cut along the ridge line. When cutting, you should pay attention to the direction of the pile, which should “look” in one direction. It will be impossible to change anything after sewing due to punctures in the skin. For paired elements, you will need two pairs of identical patterns (pile direction). To join leather parts, you must use a special foot for a sewing machine, the surface of which must be Teflon. The stitch frequency is set to medium.

If thin leather is used, a fine machine needle may be used. If the material is dense, then it is better to purchase a special needle with a highly sharpened blade.

Leather can be ironed, but there should be a piece of thick fabric between the material and the iron. For cutting, it is better to use a roller knife. The thickness of the glued seam should be about 1 cm. But the width of the allowances will directly depend on the distance at which the finishing stitches will be located. To draw lines, use a special light pencil.
